I remember as a kid in England having to wear a nose warmer I made after Mom taught me to crochet. I no longer have it but the memory lingers. Then I started to think of other things that no longer are seen. Like clackers, those heavy plastic balls at the end of two strings that clackered up and down leaving bruises on my arms, but I guess I can understand why. But other such items have disappeared into the void. No longer does a penny get you a piece of gum and a tiny toy from the gumball machine at the A&P Store. But the such I miss the most is the eye contact everyone made as you passed by them. The warmth that was shared in just a glance. I miss that the most!
